Christoph Sacher, MSc. — private burnout recovery for founders, entrepreneurs and executives.
Most people who reach me are not looking for a coach. They are looking for one honest conversation with someone who will not be impressed by them, will not be frightened by what they say, and will not immediately tell them to work less.
I have spent my career around two kinds of people: those building companies, and those quietly falling apart inside them. Often the same person.
I hold an MSc. and I have built and run businesses myself — which matters less for credibility than for translation. When you describe a board that has stopped trusting you, a co-founder conversation you have been avoiding for eight months, or the specific dread of a Monday when you own the thing, I am not translating that from a textbook. I know the texture of it.
What I am not is a therapist. I say that early and often, because the line matters. I do not treat clinical conditions, and when what someone describes belongs with a clinician I say so and refer them on. Coaching that quietly drifts into therapy helps nobody and can do real harm.
— What I believe
Your drive built everything you have. The goal is not to make a high performer into someone who no longer cares — it is to change the way you operate so the drive stops costing you your life.
You have enough people around you being careful. If I think you are avoiding something, I will say so in the session it comes up in. That is most of what you are paying for.
Depletion that took three years does not reverse in six weeks. I would rather lose the engagement than promise a timeline I have never seen hold.
— How I got here
I did not arrive at burnout work through wellness. I arrived through building — companies, teams, products, the whole apparatus. Along the way I watched capable people burn down quietly while their numbers looked fine, and I noticed something that has shaped everything since:
Almost nobody burns out because they are weak. They burn out because they built something that only runs at maximum, and then ran it that way for years.
That reframe — burnout as a design problem rather than a character problem — is the thing that makes this work different from most of what is sold under the same name. Design is fixable. Character is not, and telling a founder their character is the issue is both wrong and useless.
So I do two things most people in this field do not do together: I work on the person, and I work on the machine. The nervous system and the calendar. The internal rules and the org chart. Treating those separately is why so much recovery work evaporates the moment someone returns to their actual life.
I work in English and German, natively, with clients across the DACH region, Spain and the United States.
— Outside the work
I live on Mallorca with my wife and two young sons. I train most days, spend a great deal of time in the mountains and the sea, and I have a rule about not having my phone out around my children that I keep better than most rules I have set myself.
I mention this not as lifestyle decoration but because it is the actual subject matter. I am not selling you a discipline I do not run. The thing I am asking you to build — a life that produces energy rather than only consuming it — is the thing I spend my own time building.
I also host The CEO Coach, a podcast about how high performers actually operate, and I write regularly at articles.
If that is the thing you want — the ambition intact, the cost gone — the next step is a short private application. It takes a few minutes and it tells me whether I can genuinely help you.
